"There are so many wonderful things to say about Hand in Hand!
In the 6 years that my children have gone to Hand in Hand, they have really impressed me with their selection in care providers/teacher. The staff are positive role models.
The Director is a fabulous lady, she is caring, loving and has a genuine love for children.
Their ability to handle any discipline situations: (positive redirecting, no harsh words, no physical contact, no time outs). This says a lot about a child care center.
They have taught my children how to communicate with each other, "Use your words please" was a common phrase, to help the children learn that hands are for hugs and not for fighting.
Their overall general enthusiasm for life, shows through their daily interactions with the kids.
Their ability to create a student-centered classroom environment where active learning took place. They even had Hissing Cockroaches, & Praying Mantis' for the kids to learn about.
Their musical talents: they aren't afraid to get silly with the kids and teach them great songs.
The Lunch Menu, is always a balanced meal. It allows for kids to try food, maybe they wouldn't eat at home.
The craft's are thoughtful, and well thought out.
They have great holiday programs for the kids.
My older kids who no longer go there still talk about their favorite teachers, that means they left a great impression on my kids." - Kyra
"It is with heavy heart that I write to you today to let you know Jackson will not be at Hand in Hand this summer. We have made other child care arrangements for him, and his last day at HiH will be Thursday July 2.
In just a few weeks, we will have been at Hand in Hand for 3 years! We sought a place where Jackson would be cared for in a loving manner with people who would embrace him and help nurture him - we found that plus more!! Thank you for always being open to hear us, support us and encourage us the last three years - we have been truly blessed by you and your wonderful staff.
We have formed relationships that will last for years to come with the families of HiH. I can't imagine not starting my day by seeing my "favorite girls" (Maddie and Sabrina), or trash talking with Isaiah :-) Let alone not connecting with their parents! I can only hope that the next 12 years of school we will connect with families like we have at HiH.
And as I've communicated before, we are nothing but pleased with what a wonderful kindergarten year Jackson has had. Staying with you and Susan this year was the best choice we made for Jackson! He has been exposed to so much, has learned everyday and has a great foundation for continuing his school-life journey.
Thank you Keri for being a part of our lives for the last three years! Let me know if you have any questions." - Elizabeth
"My husband and were transferred to Vancouver and we had very little time to research a day care. Hand in Hand was the first one we looked at. We like what we saw, so we took a chance and enrolled William.
It was a great 'chance' and we have been very happy. We were both so impressed with the school and the level of interaction that the staff has with each of the children. William started coming home from school singing new songs and demonstrating hand movements while he sang. He LOVED going to school and playing with his friends. The teacher(s) was amazing, showing lots of patience and love.
My husband and I would both strongly recommend Hand in Hand Childcare to anyone who asks what day care we use.
Thank you Keri and staff for giving our son a safe, comfortable and happy experience everyday!" - Jessica
"Aaron started at Hand in Hand in 2006 and we (The family) could not have been happier. Aaron is always wanting to come to school to see his friends as well as his teachers. Every staff member is aware of all the children's needs and/or feelings. The communication between staff and the parents is very open. It does not matter if it is a negative or positive situation/concern the staff is always available and WILL take action and listen. Ever since Teacher Susan came on board Aarons Math and Readingskills have improved tremendously. Aaron cannot say enough good things about her (even when school is out). When I get there early and observe the class I am amazed at what teacher Susan has accomplished with the diverse levels of the class. As parents its nice to know that the manners and ethics we teach at home are being being reinforced by his teachers." - Fred & Cathy
"We would like to thank you and your staff for all the care and learning opportunities give to Jack. He is a very different and much happier boy since he started attending your center. Jack loves to be there! Also, as Foster parents, we truly appreciate the support and understanding we have recdeived from you and all your staff as well. You have all been so wonderful! - Polly
"I just wanted to take a minute and thank yoiu for what we consider a successful first month at Hand in Hand.
We were anxious about the transition Jackson would be making, but we couldn't be happier with the experience. We are so pleased with the staff at Hand in Hand. Everyone is so kind, caring and engaged. We especially appreciate the assistance from Stephanie and others when Jackson is still a little clingy in the morning. Stephanie jumps right in to comfort Jackson. I know in a matter of minutes, he is enjoying spending time with his new friends.
Since attending Hand in Hand, Jackson is singing more, and he shows me how to do the ABC's in sign language. I really appreciate how everyone helps us with positive reenforcement of potty training. He continues to show us he is making improvements in that regard.
I also appreciate the daily reports about Jackson's day; nap time, the amount of lunch and snack he ate. It's fun to see what books he is reading and songs he is singing. The weekly reports are great too; we incorporate things he is talking about at school at home.
We look forward to the future with the Hand in Hand staff. Thank you everyone for the love, care and empathy you show Jackson and us. " - Elizabeth
"Olivia started at Hand In Hand nine months ago and it quickly
became a
very positive part of our lives. Olivia loves going to school; it
is
never a problem in the morning when I leave. It is very comforting
to
know that she loves her teachers and that they seem to genuinely
care
for and about her. Olivia has thrived in the creative emergent
curriculum style. Watching her grow and have her interests encouraged
is very exciting.
It is also very nice to have seasonal get-togethers for families.
It
is always a fun way to watch the kids interact and to meet the other
parents. I enjoy being part of Olivia's school life. The open door
policy is very reassuring. I have had lunch with Olivia several
times
and it has been welcomed and encouraged by the teachers.
Hand In Hand truly is the right fit for our family. It is a warm
and
nurturing environment that we both enjoy. I highly recommend Hand
In
Hand."

"As a parent, one of the most challenging decisions to make is selecting the proper daycare facility for your child and family. With Hand in Hand as a choice, the decision is no longer a challenge. It is an opportunity.
"An opportunity for your child to be surrounded by nurturing and understanding teachers that are dedicated to helping your child grow mentally, emotionally and socially. The programs are creatively structured so that the children are happy and having fun while learning.
"For our family, placing our daughter in the care of the teachers at Hand in Hand has been one of the best decisions we have made since becoming parents." - Tiffany
"Going to work and leaving your child in someone else's hands is one of the hardest things a mother has to do. I can honestly say that the caliber of teachers hired at Hand in Hand makes me breathe easier. I know my son is in wonderful hands, intelligent hands and kind, patient hearts at Hand in Hand Child Development Center. My son (age 4) absolutely loves going. We are more than satisfied!" - Amy
"My daughter and I were a little worried when we started looking for a daycare
center. We were new to Vancouver and weren’t sure where to start.
Hand In Hand was our first stop. My daughter was a little nervous that first
day, but I told her if she didn’t like it, her teacher would call
me and I would pick her up. At the end of the day when I arrived to take
her home she burst into tears. I hugged her, fearing the worst, and she
told me that she was having too much fun and she didn’t want to go
home. I knew that Hand In Hand was the place for us.
In the months since she has been at Hand In Hand, my daughter has caught
bugs, played in the sprinklers, pet a snake, and made fry bread. My daughter
adores her teachers, loves learning Spanish and sign language, and discovering
more about the world around her. She comes home each day with something
new she has done or experienced and looks forward each weekend to going
back to ‘school’. Her enthusiasm at the end of each day is the
only proof I need that we have made the right choice in care." - Kendra
"I have wanted to tell you for some time how absolutely terriffic
your staff is at Hand-in-Hand. I have been helping bring my grandson,
Miles, to Hand-in-Hand since he began there last year.
Over the last year I have observed some children having difficulty from
time to time. I am totally impressed and amazed at the patience the teachers
display and the obvious caring that they exhibit daily. The high degree
of knowledge they have along with the dedication to providing a good environment
for all who attend have such positive results. I see very contented children
when I drop off Miles. I have observed your staff continually coaching
children to make good choices while providing learning and social experiences
which will help them succeed in life.
I am so glad Miles has this wonderful place to go to everyday. He gets
up looking forward to going to school everyday.
Thanks to you and your staff for creating a safe, loving environment in
which these young children can learn." - Cheri
